Speak Up. Help SaveMontclair

PictureMontclair Theatre, Montclair, NJ

1. Attend planning board meetings and speak up during public questions and comment sections to be on public record.
This has the most direct influence. PB members respond to a well thought out, sensible viewpoint.
A lack of public attendance  or show of  interest provides and allows for a decision making environment without the public's input or interest in mind.

The Planning Board is made up of some residents  who volunteer to serve and the Council elects those members when openings occur.  Other members are on the board because their town position requires it.

PB meetings are open to the public and generally meet two Mondays a month at 205 Claremont Ave.
See the schedule and agendas on the town site here.

If you don't want to speak you may hold a sign voicing your opinion.

2.Watch the planning board and council meetings on TV 34 if you cannot attend, but most importantly communicate with town officials.

3. Communicate with email or meet with your ward councilor and the mayor or attend the public council sessions to speak,  as appropriate.  Meetings and ward councilor email addresses are on the town website.

Call the town if you need your ward councilor’s name, (973) 509-4901.  Council meetings are open to the public and generally meet on two Tuesdays a month at 205 Claremont Ave.  See the schedule and agendas on the townsite above.
